Our Story
It all began one evening at a random ladies' golf night. Charis spotted Phil on the course and instantly became curious about him. Phil, feeling the same spark, switched his group to coach Charis. However, that spark was quickly extinguished when a colleague mistakenly told Phil that Charis was married!
Fast forward a year, and fate brought us back together through social media. After Charis' summer break, she returned to Saudi Arabia, and Phil was there waiting to pick her up at the airport. From that moment on, we have been inseparable.
A year later, after meeting each other's families, Phil got down on one knee. He planned the most perfect sunset surprise proposal on a private boat. He was so proud of what he had done that he shouted it at everyone in the KAUST harbor that day.
Our story is a true KAUST love story, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found each other.

The wedding will take place at Maritim Resort & Spa. If you're looking for additional options, you can explore nearby hotels on Booking.com, or check out listings on Airbnb for unique stays in the area.
Transportation
To get around the island, we recommend rental cars or pre-booked taxis. You can arrange transportation to and from the airport through your hotel or local services. Taxis are readily available at the airport, but booking in advance is advisable for convenience.
Flight Information
The nearest and only airport is Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (MRU), located approximately 1 hour from the Maritim Resort. Major airlines operate flights to Mauritius from various international destinations. Check with your local airlines for available routes and options.
Local Tips
- Weather: July is a mild winter month in Mauritius, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Bring light clothing, but a light jacket may be needed for cooler evenings.
- Currency: The local currency is the Mauritian Rupee (MUR). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it's good to have some cash for small purchases.
- Plug Adapters: The standard voltage is 230V with a frequency of 50Hz. The plug type is C and G; make sure to bring adapters if your devices use different plugs.

Can I bring kids?
While we love your little ones, we kindly ask that you leave the kiddos at home, as our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We appreciate your understanding, and this will allow everyone to fully enjoy the festivities!
What’s the best way to RSVP?
Please use the online RSVP form on our website by February 1st, 2025. We’ll need your response to finalize our arrangements. Kindly fill out the form for each person attending.
Will transportation be provided on the wedding day?
Please arrange your own transportation to the Maritim Resort. Taxis and rental cars are readily available.
Will there be vegetarian options available at the reception?
Yes, vegetarian options will be available at the reception. Please inform the RSVP if you have any dietary restrictions.

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you’d like to honor us with a gift, we kindly ask that you consider contributing to our honeymoon fund, as bringing physical gifts back to Saudi Arabia can be difficult.
